Overview
Har Ki Dun (the Valley of Shiva) is a cradle-shaped hanging valley in the Garhwal Himalayas. The trek takes you back in time as you pass through villages like Gangaad and Osla, which still retain their distinct wooden architecture and ancient culture. Safe, community-focused, and deeply respectful of local customs, this trek is a perfect mix of Himalayan grandeur and cultural immersion.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Drive from Dehradun to Sankri
A gorgeous 220 km drive alongside the Tons river, crossing beautiful pine forests. Reach Sankri village and stay at our local partner guesthouse. (220 km, 8-9 hrs, 6,400 ft)
Drive from Sankri to Taluka; Trek to Seema/Osla
Take a bumpy, scenic 12 km drive to Taluka. Start the trek along the Supin River, walking through chestnut and willow forests. Arrive at Seema campsite near the ancient village of Osla. (12 km trek, 5-6 hrs, 8,200 ft)
Trek from Seema to Har Ki Dun Valley
Ascend past the terraced fields of Osla. The trail climbs steadily, revealing views of the majestic Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch peaks. Reach the lush grasslands of Har Ki Dun campsite. (11 km, 5-6 hrs, 11,700 ft)
Exploration Day at Har Ki Dun
Relax in the valley or choose to explore further. You can trek to the pristine Marinda Tal lake or towards the Jaundhar Glacier viewpoint, surrounded by snow walls. Return to camp for stories. (6-8 km optional exploration)
Trek from Har Ki Dun back to Seema/Osla
Trace your steps back down the valley. Take a detour to walk through Osla village, learning about the local woodcarving culture, folklore, and their unique way of life. Sleep at Seema campsite. (11 km, 4-5 hrs, 8,200 ft)
Trek from Seema to Taluka; Drive to Sankri
Complete the final stretch of trekking back to Taluka, listening to the roaring Supin river. Board the local jeeps back to Sankri. Celebrate the journey with a special team dinner. (12 km trek, 4 hrs; 1 hr drive)
Drive from Sankri to Dehradun
Depart Sankri in the morning and drive back to Dehradun. The tour ends at Dehradun Railway Station by late evening. (220 km, 8-9 hrs)

Packing List
- •50-60L Backpack with rain cover + a small 20L daypack
- •High-ankle trekking shoes (waterproof preferred) with spare laces

- •4 Pairs of trekking socks (including 1 woolen pair for sleeping)
- •Waterproof gloves and a warm woolen cap
- •UV protection sunglasses and a sun cap
